Have you ever?
Have you ever felt so alone,
that your own reflection in the mirror was company?
Have you ever?
Have you ever felt so much anger, rage and fury,
that your fingertips felt as though they were going to
explode?
Have you ever?
Have you ever been so suffocated in silence,
that your own skin felt like a shackled restraint?
Have you ever?
Have you ever entombed so much disappointment,
that the decaying stench of it made you bilious?
Have you ever?
Have you ever?
…
The hopeful and buoyant reflection in the mirror calls:
Tomorrow, is yet a new day…
Once more,
you will wash away the corrosion of day past.
Once more,
you will go to your closet of masks,
and put on a new façade for the day anew!
Tomorrow, is yet a new day…
Yet, a new stage…
To play the fictitious “brave”.
Mystified and baffled,
at my reflection I gaze…
and my own voice echoes once more:
Tomorrow, is yet a new day…
A new day to scream in silence!!!
